Question:
At first I had sparkles in the left eye and then the smoky-shadowy sight and then complete darkness (blind) that lasted approx 20-30 minutes. Docs thought I had a stroke and did carotid ultra sounds which showed no blockage, but now have no ideas or solutions. Could someone please give me a lead in the right direction. Thanks very much.

Answer:
Your Eye M.D. may be able to help sort out your problem.  You should have a thorough history and complete dilated eye exam.  Other testing such as a visual field test may be indicated.  Your event may have been a type of migraine, or it could be something else.
